Start date: September 2024 or January 2025
Samuel Ward Academy is looking to appoint a dynamic teacher to lead the Music Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring leader with the ambition and vision to grow a strong department.
We are looking for a teacher of the highest calibre who has an excellent understanding of the subject and the ability to motivate, challenge and inspire our students. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, innovative, creative and enthusiastic practitioner with a determination to achieve the highest outcomes. Already an excellent teacher, you will be ambitious to become an excellent leader as well.
The successful candidate will benefit from an excellent CPD offer including the possibility to pursue formal qualifications. You will join a school with a highly visible and supportive SLT, a sensible to approach to workload and a calm, respectful working environment. The team you will lead are highly committed, supportive and innovative- and you will be able to lead them to even greater success.
Samuel Ward is a successful 11-18 co-educational academy. We are situated in pleasant surroundings on the western edge of Suffolk, within easy reach of Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. We benefit from excellent facilities; our new £10m building opened in April 2019. We were inspected by Ofsted in November 2022 and were pleased to be graded a good school.
We continually strive to be better and the successful candidate will have a key hand in shaping an exciting future. We take staff wellbeing very seriously. Unity Schools Partnership operate a two week October half term break with other holidays remaining in line with national patterns. The school day has been extended slightly to ensure we deliver the same amount of in-school time over the year.
