What you will be doing
Alphega to be the leading network of independent pharmacies across Europe with a point of difference from competition. Not only in the proposition but also the operating model. Need through operational excellence and innovation maintain and expand this USP.
Drive increase of market share for Alliance Healthcare through innovative pharmacy solutions for members so that their purchase loyalty is increased. As the Alphega proposition evolves and gets more compelling network size increases especially for the Diamond category delivering incremental sales and profit growth.
Enabling members to focus on consumer experience and patient care to deliver outstanding patient centric services whilst Alphega provides technological, process, marketing. education and leadership tools. This enables members to outperform their peers in sales and services as well as compete with hard chains and co-operatives. These sales out improvement leads to AH sales in improvement and overall profitability.
Key member of Alphega Divisional Team with accountability to be improve the network excellence across all markets working closely with local and divisional teams. Excellence is defined as the net impact of having a highly effective sales force team, world class execution of business as usual processes and systems through most efficient and cost-effective route to market. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and develop a platform to capture innovation and best practice for excellence.
Supporting the delivery of the key fiscal targets annually through developing an operational excellence plan for pharmacy development by market. The operational plan would include key performance metrics for measures defining network excellence. There would also be a clear understanding of the purpose of the metrics and how they underpin the overall strategy and success of Alphega across all markets.
Working closely with a complex matrix management structure consisting of, country managers, local and divisional specialists and other Divisional and local colleagues from Compliance, Marketing, Operations, Legal, HR, Digital, Procurement, Finance, Operations. To ensure sharing of best practice alignment on priorities through excellent communication and engagement.
Develop a “best in class” excellence culture through driving improved efficiencies, improved effectiveness, and improved execution. Lead countries development of the member proposition and share key learnings and potential risks so that we create a culture of continuous improvement.

5.1 SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Good understanding of pharmacy and healthcare services especially in pharmacies
  • Previous experience in a highly complex operational role to drive continuous improvement but also land complex projects and change programs
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written, a second language would be ideal
  • IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong awareness of cultural and individual differences, a real passion for people.

5.2 EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Degree
  • Knowledge of healthcare or FMCG ecosystems and develop excellence across multi-site operations
  • Worked in multi-site business ideally across multiple international markets

Responsibilities:

As projects and pilots evolve and are approved to move into business as usual develop comprehensive plans to embed from project status to ongoing operations. Build strong plans to establish as status quo. Provide adhoc and regular reports for the Regional Director on excellence through key metrics established for efficiency, effectiveness and execution at various levels within Alphega. Evaluate instore end to end processes to eradicate non-value adding activities, synergise duplication and introduce new smart processes. Improve the sales force efficiency through the deployment of the B2B CRM tool provided by SalesForce. Expand the deployment across all markets and maintain Spain as the centre of excellence ensuring it evolves and is market leading. Ensure country deployment through assessment of KPIs. Understand the visit cycle planning and execution to share learnings of efficiency, execution and effectiveness. Develop technological assets to support the day to day operations within pharmacy so that systems can support the efficient and effective operations to support a great consumer experience. These include a centrally driven operational activity calendar, pharmacy productivity model and operational task managements New services such as Hearing Service (Evollu), CareCoach (Crossist) etc once pilot has been approved ensure smooth transition into business as usual. Set-up reporting and sharing best practice mechanics to ensure execution. E-health will drive new services and operating models for Alphega the pace of development is fast and to ensure capability and capacity to deliver act as a sounding board for countries. Evaluate and assess the execution of marketing campaigns across the markets and work closely with local and divisional team to assess ROI and provide insights into opportunities and risks. Ensure the execution of category management in all markets to the desired level of execution supporting this with visual evidence. Also developing with Finance and Data teams supporting metrics on performance of relevant pharmacies and markets. Drive excellence in the network through establishing standard operating procedures for members, business consultants, country and central teams. Using tools such as CRM, Data Analytics to identify areas of strength and weakness and put appropriate actions in place. Identify and share best practice, remove none valuing adding activities and remove duplication. Support the country teams in aligning to AB Compliance regulations and any weaknesses identified are resolved. Ensure countries follow the policies outlined in OOC 16.3 Work collaboratively with Alphega central team and countries so that communication is clear and concise to remove ambiguity Act as a temperature check for countries and escalate any concerns to Regional Director Regular meetings with AB and GNP to support sharing of ideas and projects to harness the power of our scale and reduce costs by duplication.
