BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries. We manage the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability. We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with our overall wind strategy.
Business Unit Offshore is responsible to manage and operate all Offshore wind parks as well as Offshore wind projects with regards to development, construction and execution within the Region Continental/UK.

The Operational Control Center is part of Vattenfall’s Business Unit Wind, Offshore, Generation. The Operational Control Center monitors Vattenfall’s more than 1.100 turbines and is leading within support for all Vattenfall’s sites within turbine surveillance, high voltage control and marine coordination. As the central point of contact for our sites 24/7/365 we contribute with a safe and value creating service guaranteeing the highest possible availability for our sites.
We are now looking for a Head of Operational Control Centre. The Operational Control Centre is divided into 3 teams with each their manager; Surveillance Centre, The Marine Coordination Centre and the HV Control Room. The Head of the Operational Control Centre and his/her team, are the single point of contact for our sites regarding Surveillance, Marine Coordination and High Voltage monitoring and control as well as Emergency and crisis management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in a relevant field (is desirable);
  • At least 5 years of experience from working a similar position in the energy sector or a technical industry. Offshore/onshore wind knowledge from a development, project or O&M role is desired;
  • Experienced in technical, operation and maintenance are necessary and experience from Leading change in large international organizations is considered as an advantage;
  • Experience with leading leaders is considered as an advantage;
  • Fluent English language;
  • Persuasive communication skills, comfortable at presenting, building relationships and influencing others, while working effectively across diverse cultures and geographical locations (and Danish authorities)
  • Good computer skills and previous experience with SAP and Electrical knowledge are beneficial in this role.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS HEAD OF OPERATIONAL CONTROL CENTRE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head of Operational Control Centre manages the following key responsibilities:

  • Marine coordination for Offshore O&M sites and construction projects;
  • Emergency response coordination and harmonization for Offshore by MCC;
  • Monitoring and controlling of the WTGs for Offshore and Onshore sites;
  • Monitoring and controlling of High voltage equipment for Offshore and Onshore sites;
  • Emergency response coordination and harmonization for Onshore by SC;
  • Take Product Ownership to develop requirement for modern monitoring and controlling tools for the Operational Control Centre in close cooperation with our Digital Engineering teams and Operations;
  • Proactively interact with our sites to share know how and best practice and optimize their performance for all Vattenfall’s onshore and offshore sites;
  • Support to future business areas like Hydrogen production / Power to X in terms of monitoring.
  • Take the role as Crisis Manager OCC, according to defined business and national procedures.
  • OCC (SC) act as Single Point of Contact towards BA Market for BA Wind
  • Provide input and make decisions regarding content in Employers Requirements for new windfarms regarding Control & Monitoring from OCC.;
  • Ensure Compliance with the DA National Joint Preparedness legislation for the Energy sector.
