Description:

A well established real estate business based in the heart of central London are looking for their next senior hire.
This is a newly created Head of Operational Finance which will get great exposure to the wider business, whilst leading a team and will business partner the investment management function. The role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced real estate finance professional to make their own stamp on the position in a high performing environment.

Responsibilities of the Head of Operational Finance will include;

  • Build strong, open relationships with all internal investment management teams and external stakeholders to ensure the finance function delivers robust, timely financial data for decision making
  • Ensure a robust financial control environment and that all Group policies and procedures are in place and operational
  • Manage the outsourced finance team and identify and implement efficiencies where appropriate
  • Take a lead role in all areas of operational finance for the business, including:
  • Support scenario planning for acquisitions, asset management, leasing transactions by providing decision making information for and oversight of approval papers
  • Lead the design, content and review of monthly and quarterly management information including the IFRS accounting for income, non-recoverable costs and service charge including detailed variance analysis versus budget
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure there is a clear understanding of operational finance
  • Ensure all operational metrics on arrears, service charge, deposits
  • Oversight of covenant compliance across the portfolio
  • Lead reporting to joint venture partners and relationship management
  • Lead role in ad-hoc transactions or specific projects as required
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of the businesses Finance function
  • Be a vocal champion for the adoption of new ways of working and new tools

The ideal Head of Operational Finance will be;

  • ACA/ACCA qualified + significant years PQE
  • Experienced within real estate finance
  • A strong team player, who is able to work well with senior stakeholders
  • Proactive and embracive of change
