Viatris has an exciting opportunity for a Head of OSD Site Operations with strong manufacturing and technical packaging experience to join our team and to lead our Manufacturing facility.
To provide leadership to the Carole Park OSD Site Operations teams, to ensure that these departments meet their budget, forecast costs, volumes, quality, and safety metrics. Set and execute on manufacturing business strategy to ensure that the site’s systems, plant, personnel, and equipment meet agreed objectives around supply, cost and Health, Safety and Environment and comply with or exceed GMP regulatory obligations.
Leads groups under scope of the role to continuously improve performance and collaborates across functions at site level to guarantee adherence to pertinent regulatory guidance. To ensure manufacturing and packaging volumes meet the required schedule/forecast. Ensure warehouse inventory is appropriately managed and controlled and ensure the facility and its equipment are maintained in a suitable state of repair in line with functional needs and compliance guidelines.

Main Duties

  • Develop and execute operational and tactical plans to lead the site to meet operational goals (customer service, safety, quality, right first time, perfect batches, on time product delivery, optimal performance of people) and profit objectives (productivity, reduction of waste, cost, achievement of budget).
  • Lead the objectives, policies, programs and budgets within production, packaging, maintenance, operational excellence, and warehouse functions.
  • Ensure the site continuously delivers world class customer service levels (Orders Delivered In-Full, On-Time and schedule performance).
  • Set and review draft budget for the Operations Departments for submission and approval by senior management
  • Drive performance of the Operations Department managers against budget and forecast. Plan and review divisional operating costs regarding production, output, quality and quantity, cost, time available, people requirements, planned production and control, inventory levels and freight.
  • Monthly reporting of performance against budget and forecast Management of direct reports to develop capability of the management team in Operations and ensure alignment of the team through staff meetings and informal discussions
  • Drive the support functions of OE and engineering to improve the efficiency of Production and Packaging to meet overhead recovery budgets, safety and quality metrics. This will be achieved through continuous improvement activities and leveraging technology at the site
  • Ensure all Operations Departments and manufacturing activities comply with all relevant regulations, laws and company policies, and that training is compliant
  • Attend and provide input to the sites leadership meetings and forums to ensure alignment of the leadership team and address issues across functions to resolve problems and take advantage of opportunities
  • Execute any other duties or assignments as delegated by Global and Regional Operations Leadership.
  • Communicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives

About you

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, science, or engineering is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a senior level within the pharmaceutical industry is essential.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Lean Management and Six Sigma methodologies.
