Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Partnerships.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Build the business by developing sales and retention strategies across targeted external distributors
  • Fulfil strategic leadership role for the partnership distribution business.
  • Implement effective sales and servicing strategy to ensure high customer satisfaction level
  • Work closely with Marketing and Client Service and Sales Support (CSSS) to develop high quality marketing and sales materials to demonstrate HSBC AM credibility
  • Formulate effective product strategy suited for the respective distributors and market.
  • Be an active participant in the industry, participate in external conferences and key client events

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Responsible for AM’s relationship with external retail banks, private banks, family offices and insurance companies in Singapore
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively discuss relevant strategies and solutions
  • Drive feedback to assess client satisfaction and proactively address pain points in a timely manner
  • Deliver a differentiated offer, take responsibility for removing roadblocks and escalate as relevant – using judgement and experience
  • Ensure business development and client service coverage of each key client is fully integrated
  • Develop and grow strategic, long term relationships with key clients and associated third parties where applicable – maximise HSBC AM’s share of business with key clients

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Fulfil strategic leadership role by ensuring smooth functioning of the team and running of the partnership distribution business
  • Foster professional and positive relationship with clients, team and internal counterparts
  • Work in partnership with regional and global teams to effectively implement sales strategy for partnership distribution accounts
  • Ensure close and effective working relationship with different teams including CSSS, Marketing and Product to maintain high standard of service pledge to all key clients
  • Share best practices within the region
  • Develop sales strategies for the partnership distribution business
  • Thought leadership on new product ideas and servicing model to strengthen market leadership

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Equip with knowledge on sales process, cross border processes and KYC / KYD procedures
  • Understand operational details and implications
  • Understand management reporting procedures

Requirements

  • Degree qualification, preferably in Finance
  • The role fulfilment of leadership role for partnership distribution
  • The role requires to work independently and to apply the right business judgment when setting priorities and direction
  • The role requires an understanding of the group structure and will be working closely with colleagues across the Group
  • The role must also establish close working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Over ten years of experience in similar role in asset management firms

To be considered for this role, the relevant rights to work in Singapore is required.
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role. HSBC Group reserves its position with regards to any steps which it may take in relation to any material adverse findings which arise either when the checks are originally completed, and/or if relevant, on an ongoing basis.
