Description:

The Head of Partnerships - Retail (shopping malls and supermarkets) is responsible and accountable for JCDecaux’s Retail Commercial Partnerships throughout the UK. This will involve working with existing and when secured new partners to maintain the highest level of service and collaboration. In addition, the Head of Partnerships – Retail will take day to day control of these partnerships and ensure best in class customer service, working closely with the partners to ensure fluid lines of communication are sustained. This role will manage the Retail Partnership team and work closely with the Chief Partnerships Officer (CPO) and Strategic Partnerships Director (SPD) to ensure key strategic and commercial targets are exceeded across the business.
What you’ll be doing…

Productive Relationships

  • Proactive management of every partner to build and maintain strong, enduring client relationships.
  • Motivating Customer Relationship Management throughout the department, delivering over and above service levels to our Partners.
  • Creating a team atmosphere of trust, growth and passion in all areas.
  • Operating as the senior figurehead with all other departments in JCDecaux for Retail commercial activities.
  • Liaising with internal departments ensuring clear commercial understanding and focus on required deliverables.
  • Update on key initiatives to the team and ensuring regular dialogue with Commercial and Marketing to feed into communication with our clients.
  • Working side by side with the CPO and SPD, taking the initiative to monitor, maintain and outperform upon JCDecaux’s strategic objectives.

Reporting

  • Ensure transparent and tailored reporting to our Partners on key performance metrics and initiatives.
  • Lead monthly or quarterly meetings (as desired by the Partner), organising input from other areas in JCDecaux and ensuring progressive discussion.
  • Construction of reporting presentations to review with the CPO.
  • Managing revenue forecasts and regular updates to our clients on revenue performance, payments, initiatives and critical metrics.
  • Internal reporting on KPI’s , upcoming tenders and capital investment.
  • Understands the complexities within handling the revenue forecast so trends can be monitored and communicate where required.

Pro-active Approach

  • Provide growth prospects to the sales team, including new opportunities, under-performing areas and key venue specific events, ensuring adequate notice to sell.
  • Monitor and communicate individual venue performance, giving visibility to key Commercial channels.
  • Develop relationships at a senior level with both existing and potential partner organisations.
  • Understand the key business requirements for Retail stakeholders that are tendering opportunities.
  • Lead on Retail Invitation to Tender responses on existing contracts with the CPO, delivering best in class submissions that fit both JCDecaux and Partner’s objectives.
  • Work with and assist the SPD on Invitation to Tender responses for new contracts.

Operational Requirements

  • Regular engagement with the Development Managers to ensure projects land on time and that any challenges are overcome, whilst always ensuring forward planning and communication with our Partners.
  • Annual capital investment plans, monthly updates and working with the Projects team to monitor spend.
  • Site Visits as and when required with Sales, Marketing, Development and external clients.
  • Work with the CPO, SPD and Marketing Director on investment plans for existing and new portfolios.

  • A self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert and professional in relationships and client management development.
  • Ability to present at and take part in Senior Level discussions.
  • Works well within a team and has a collaborative approach to group tasks.
  • Articulate and can effectively explain complex information to a range of audiences.
  • Proven, demonstrable negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Operate as the lead for client communication and feedback.
  • Ability to integrate at a senior level with all areas of a business.

Operational / Systems Expertise

  • Solid analytical and task management experience.
  • Financial analysis and Investment Management Appraisal experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) and Outlook proficiency is essential .
  • A Proactive approach to Systems and Reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent – preferable.
  • Previous Customer Relationship and Partner Management.
  • Accountability across Major Accounts and Partnerships in the Retail sector.
