Head of Payroll & Pension Services

The Payroll and Pensions team is an integral part of the Finance function and is accountable for the payment of approximately 2000 employees.
As Head of Payroll and Pensions, you will help shape and deliver a best-in-class corporate service and you will be the subject matter expert in all aspects of pensions, employment and benefits tax.
You will ensure that all domestic and international payroll activities are processed accurately, while ensuring that the University meets all relevant legislative regulations.
Providing strategic leadership to the Payroll and Pensions team, you will design, review, improve, and deliver Payroll and Pensions processes that are fit for purpose in the context of supporting Aston’s strategic aims and objectives and its students. You will deliver outstanding customer service to our beneficiaries, through a well-developed and motivated team. You will oversee best practice with regard to payroll services with responsibility for service transformation and efficiency working across the University.
Ideally you will have a CIPP qualification or have equivalent experience. Proven experience of developing payroll and pensions strategies with evidence of successful payroll and pension management in a large complex organisation is essential.
