The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the President, Canada, the Head of Planning will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and managing Sales Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and the S&OP process. This role demands strategic thinking, collaborative leadership, and a comprehensive understanding of planning operations within the cannabis industry.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Planning: Lead the development of sales strategies and forecasts in close collaboration with the sales team, incorporating market insights, historical data, and consumer trends.
  • Demand Planning: Oversee demand forecasting activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate projections, inventory management, and optimization of the supply chain.
  • Supply Planning: Manage supply planning processes to align inventory levels, production capacities, and procurement strategies with demand forecasts and market needs.
  • S&OP Oversight: Drive the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, fostering alignment among Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to synchronize plans and resources effectively.
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and guidance to the planning team, ensuring robust planning strategies, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Analysis: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate planning effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and drive operational excellence.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate extensively with various departments to align planning activities, resolve conflicts, and ensure cohesive execution of plans.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of industry regulations and market dynamics impacting planning activities, ensuring compliance and adaptation to changing requirements.
  • Other: Duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales planning, demand planning, supply chain management, and leading S&OP processes, preferably within a regulated industry.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical abilities, proficiency in planning software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the cannabis industry landscape, market dynamics, and regulatory considerations is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
