Head of Platform Engineering

We are looking for an inspiring and effective Head of Platform Engineering to join Sympower’s Engineering Leadership Team, leading our efforts in architecting, building, and scaling our platform to ensure reliability, scalability, and an exceptional developer experience. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our company, driving technical innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
You will oversee three talented teams within Platform Engineering, Developer Experience and Engineering Support/Operations guiding them in designing, implementing, and optimising the systems and tools that power our platform. Additionally, you will champion cross-department initiatives to enhance developer experience, ensuring that our engineering teams can innovate rapidly and deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.

• You will lead and mentor our platform teams (with three direct team leads in reference), fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• You will define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for our platform infrastructure together with our Technical Prodcut Manager , aligning it with business objectives and growth plans.
• You will architect and implement scalable, reliable, and secure systems to support our growing customer base and evolving product offerings.
• You will establish and enforce best practices for platform engineering, including automation, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, to ensure seamless integration of platform services.
• You will drive initiatives to optimise developer experience, streamlining development workflows, and reducing time-to-market for new features and enhancements.
• You will report directly to the CTO.
