Job Description
Due to our exciting pipeline of work, we are seeking a dynamic and forward thinking Head of Process Engineering for delivery of our current portfolio of work with a focus on growing our Process Engineering capability in line with the demand from our clients and new opportunities.
You will have the vision and passion we need to strengthen our offering, undertaking a business development role as well as process engineering capability management and governance. You will lead the development of a strong and agile team to whom you will provide leadership and robust management. In your role, you will be the first point of direct contact with clients, partners and contractors. You will develop the contacts required to grow our Process Engineering business, building on a demonstrable specialism in this area.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant Engineering Degree : BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering, and professional qualification via IChemE
- Demonstrable experience in leading others and developing team members
- Demonstrable expertise with a track record of application of process engineering knowledge or skills in the nuclear sector
- Demonstrable record of successful delivery, including positions influencing other professional engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages
- Ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of projects across a portfolio to inform and direct projects and programmes
- Ability to provide leadership and undertake business development in a key area within an engineering function including acting as a custodian of resource and expertise.
As well as our established work in nuclear decommissioning, we can offer exciting opportunities to be involved in the preparation for delivering services to the civil nuclear new build programme planned in the UK. Given the nature of our projects within the nuclear sector, any successful candidate would be subject to UK security clearance requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BSc /BEng Chemical Engineering (Hons)
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers
- Demonstrable expertise and an extensive track record in a process engineering design role at a senior level in the nuclear sector
- Full UK driving license
ABLE TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SECURITY CLEARANCE IN THE UK.
Please note that our offer of employment is conditional upon your ability to meet UK security clearance requirements at the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). This is necessary for you to work on the full range of projects requiring security clearance at AECOM Infrastructure and Environment UK Limited.

- Deliver technical expertise in Process Engineering, providing guidance and support to team members
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the nuclear process engineering capability
- Provide leadership and governance to the nuclear process engineering capability
- Grow the nuclear process capability in line with demand from clients and new opportunities
- Seek new opportunities from Clients for future work
- Grow early careers personnel via mentoring and support
- Lead recruitment for process engineering
- Focus on development and training of process engineering capability to ensure a diverse SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experience) team.
- Stay abreast of new opportunities arising within the nuclear process engineering sector
- Support bids as a subject matter expert in field.
