As the Head of Property you will be responsible for providing forward-thinking insights to develop and transform key property strategies that support the performance and key objectives across NZ and the Pacific Islands. You will work with the business to understand and translate strategic and tactical business requirements into purposeful property solutions, acting as the single point of contact to the NZ CFO and Group Head of Property for all property service matters relating to NZ and Pacific Islands. In this role you will play a critical role in leading the implementation and application of consistent global risk, compliance and business practices ensuring alignment with global Group Property’s operational plans. Other key responsibilities in this role include:
Act as a key contributor and collaborator to the continuing evolution of the local and Group Property functions including a key member of the NZ CFO Units LT and Group Property LT
Develop and lead a high performing and engaged team (both internal & outsourced staff) through coaching and guidance to meet agreed goals, including provision of feedback, encouragement and open communication, including role-modelling a ‘speak-up’ culture
Support the design and operation of physically safe, compliant, efficient and effective business environments that promote wellbeing for our customers and employees
Monitor the financial performance and provide insights for sustainable cost management improvements
Establish and maintain valuable working relationship with the Property Industry to enable the delivery of innovation and best practice
Consolidate all aspects of NZ and Pacific Property’s local delivery to help communicate Property strategy, achievements and challenges
Provide expert advice to the NZ and Pacific divisions in line with regulations, self-insurer license standards and employment law ensuring risks are minimised and business unit objectives are met
Support global functional leaders to manage and foster growth in the local NZ property staff by ensuring succession, development and retention programs are in place

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Significant experience leading a diverse property portfolio across a large corporate environment that is geographically dispersed
Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and data-driven decision making capabilities
Future focused and actively understands and anticipates industry, workplace and customer trends, ensuring Property Strategy is aligned
Ability to partner with a business and provide expert property advice, recommendations and thought leadership based on expertise and experience to address needs and deliver creative solutions
Experience in influencing and communicating at executive level including presentation of issues and resolutions, adaptability, ability to work autonomously, work with a team and solve problems quickly
Demonstrated experience establishing and building effective relationships with senior executives, peers and external partners and influencing outcomes at a senior executive level
Resilience and a fast-paced approach with a strong growth mindset.
The ability to identify, monitor and manage risks, issues and dependencies, agreeing appropriate risk responses, including demonstrated crisis management.
Leadership capability to motivate and engage diverse teams, anchoring your approach in ANZ’s values and leadership behaviours. This includes a reputation for coaching, encouraging curiosity and investing in people development
