We are looking for an experienced Head of Retail Space Planning who will be responsible for developing store layouts to maximize space utilization and sales and facilitate customer flow. You will lead a team of Space planners and analytics, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize space utilization, and enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities:

MORE SPECIFICALLY THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

  • Develop Store Layouts to maximize space utilization and sales and facilitate customer flow while overseeing the implementation of seasonal and promotional changes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely builds and pass off Assortment Range considering Master Calendar, workload capacity, and Trade updates.
  • Data analysis and performance monitoring by utilizing sales data, foot traffic patterns, and other KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of store layouts and merchandising strategies.
  • Effective management of team and processes for both short term and long-term goals
  • Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams including Visual Merchandising, Product, Commercial Planning and Retail to align team and company goals and initiatives.
  • Training and Development for Retail/Store teams to ensure they understand and adhere to space planning guidelines and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement of store layouts and merchandising strategies to adhere to changing market conditions, consumer preferences, and competitive pressures.

To succeed in the role, we imagine you have several years of retail space experience making you proficient in space planning principles including store layout design, planogram development, and space utilization optimization as well as;

  • Experience with space management software (e.g. JDA, Relex).
  • Retail Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of the industry including market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data, foot traffic patterns, etc. to evaluate store performance, identify implications, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong organization and planning skills, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills displaying ability to work with multiple levels of leaders and stakeholders across several business functions.
  • Keen attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in range, layouts, etc
