As the Head of sales, you play a strategic role in the company by driving enhanced revenue generation activities in the department. Your job is to deliver an optimised market mix and expand the company’s market share and consumer base. You utilise analytics to measure the successes and weaknesses of sales strategies.
The Head of sales is primarily responsible for overseeing the sales performance of a company and devising strategies to optimise practices. Responsibilities typically revolve around monitoring the progress of every sales effort, setting objectives and deadlines, performing research and analysis to identify sales opportunities, and coordinating with different departments to improve procedures and reach sales targets. Furthermore, as the Head of sales, it is essential to lead and enable our sales team to exceed their targets, all while implementing the company’s policies and regulations.
Managing an effective sales team assuming responsibility for yearly, quarterly, and monthly sales projections and revenue results.
Overseeing the customer service team, manage after sales and operational aspects with customers.
Developing, communicating, and managing a clear business development & sales plan that includes clear growth objectives for all product lines across the Italian market.
Being responsible for understanding the go to market needs of the business at a local level and ensuring that Italy is represented for its needs and market direction across the BUs and the functions.
Be the key connection between the sales team and our manufacturing teams
Providing regular sales activity and account updates to management through direct reporting and CRM Tools.
Keeping abreast of any new developments or competitive information
Taking a “hands-on” approach and supporting the sales team in closing major deals and key accounts.
Being responsible for yearly, quarterly, and monthly quota achievement and accurate sales projections.
Continued refinement of sales plan
Driving sales and demanding creation working directly with key end user customers.
Exploring and analysing market trends and identifying new opportunities throughout UK&I
Building organisation strength through the development and hiring of talent at all levels of the sales organisation.
Creating a positive working environment, training, and mentoring staff and motivating all team members to perform efficiently.
Motivating and maintaining a high morale performance-driven culture.
Closely working with individual salespeople to facilitate career growth and success in their region.
What you need to have:
Significant demonstrated relevant experience in business development and sales with a proven record of accomplishment in achieving revenue targets and strategic growth goals.
Significant experience using CRM to develop, manage and forecast pipeline opportunities.
Proven sales team management
Proven experience of P&L Management
Demonstrated knowledge of market and competitive environment.
Experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans.
Demonstrates a strong technical aptitude and able to convey and understand technical concepts.
Ability to effectively communicate in additional EMEA relevant languages a plus.
Ability to present information to management and public groups as a “speaker”.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a regional sales organisation that leads to successful organic growth.
Excellent organisational, collaboration and interpersonal skills with proven teamwork execution at a senior level.
Have the ability and experience to structure and lead a team.
Relevant and direct experience within Italy including the key commercial vertical markets.
Good reasoning ability to investigate and analyse information and draw relevant conclusions.
Ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively to achieve desired business results.
Attention to detail, thoroughness, and being able to deal with complexity and ambiguity.
Good listening skills and must be able to diplomatically deal with difficult situations.
Must be able to make effective and collaborative business decisions.
Proven effective communication including written and presentation skills.
Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
