Join Close Brothers Premium Finance Team where you will proactively and effectively grow and manage the Close Brothers Premium Finance business in the Region via the team of Sales Managers, in line with company strategy, regulatory implementation and three-year plan to maximise business potential. Working as part of the Sales team our ideal team member will have previous experience in the broker/insurance market with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management of the regional sales team, taking responsibility for results delivery of the individuals and the total regional result.
  • Drive the delivery of both new business and sales training via the provided regional resources and ensure that the engagement with the Sales Managers remains priority.
  • Create and implement a sales plan to achieve both volume and case growth targets throughout the trading year and growth development for the new trading period.
  • Complete accompanied visits with the Sales Managers and offer effective coaching on the agreed approached with jointly agreed follow up actions.
  • Ensure consistent activity and service delivery to all brokers, within the agreed region to minimise the loss of business to competitors – Effectively manage the Sales Managers to protect their volumes and brokers with the use of effective, long term contracts.
  • To understand the regulatory changes that will impact on the portfolio of the given region and to effectively work with both the Sales Managers and brokers to implement any given changes within the regulations.
  • Manage call volumes as per the company requirements – To ensure that the Sales Managers are delivering key business messages via the activity and visit programme.
  • Swift and decisive action to ensure broker issues are highlighted to the relevant department heads and corrected quickly or reported to the National Sales Director.
  • Request and analyse regular management information to review the regional and broker performance/ quality trends and to be proactive in identifying and addressing low profit or under-performing brokers.
  • Report on a formal basis monthly to the NSD on activity, progress against plan plus competitive market information and product/service feedback as well as regulatory changes/updates.
  • Report weekly, via 1-2-1 reviews on the regional performance and prioritise issues.
  • Coach and develop the Sales Managers on an ongoing basis to give each one the best possible opportunity to succeed, making recommendations on underperforming staff as appropriate.
  • Identify underperforming customers and develop strategies for increased penetration via the Sales Managers.
  • Identify and attend appropriate corporate events and workshops to aid relationships and customer loyalty.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional behaviour and appearance in the market for self and team, to maximum reputational benefit for the company at all times.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly reviews based on the results against target.
  • Implement the company’s performance management process where required.
  • Ensure that the regional marketing budget is utilised correctly and gain the most additional business as a direct result.
  • Be an active participant in the NSD senior management team.
  • Ensure that all company records are kept up to date for themselves and their team, sickness, holiday etc via People at Close.
  • To work closely with both the NSD and other key stakeholders within the business to minimise risk and work with key areas such as the BA team in the effective delivery of their own objectives.
  • To create an environment that will allow the effective delivery of business messages and give the Sales Managers an opportunity to effectively give feedback on performance, competitors and other matters relating to the information set of the region.
  • To build long term relationships internally with key stake holders with Credit, Governance, Business Operations – This will be essential given that Sales will touch all departments.
    Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
