We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Site Reliability to join us at our unique Head Office in Renfrew, which includes our state-of-the-art gym with weekly circuit training, a personal trainer and yoga classes as well as the Beeks Bar or weekly masseuse to help you unwind!

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in site reliability engineering, devops, or similar roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong background in cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, particularly as they apply to this sector.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments and compliance standards relevant (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, SOX).
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, Go).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a track-record of building and motivating high-performing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability strategy that encompasses infrastructure, applications, and security considerations specific to our business.
  • Build, manage and mentor the brand new SRE team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Ensure systems are designed and operated in compliance with financial industry regulations and standards.
  • Lead incident management processes, including post-mortem analysis and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to advocate for reliability and performance best practices in the development lifecycle.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of automation tools for system health monitoring, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Manage SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for all critical systems and services.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize infrastructure costs without compromising on reliability and security.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in within our sector, SRE, and cybersecurity to continually enhance our systems and practices.
