JOB TITLE: HEAD OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

I am thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Head of Software Engineering. Our client seeks a dynamic individual to lead their software engineering department, overseeing a team of engineers and testers driving continuous improvement, best practice and technical excellence.
The Head of Software Engineering will have a strong background in engineering and technology, along with demonstrated expertise in team building, culture development, and mentorship.

Main Accountabilities for the Head of Software Engineering:

• Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of up to c.20 members, driving their growth, development, and performance. This includes front-end, back-end and QA testers operating in an AWS cloud environment.
• You’ll develop and implement software engineering strategies that closely align with our client’s organisational goals, objectives and change developments.
• With an eye on project timelines and budgets, you’ll ensure that deliverables are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Collaboration will be key as you work closely with other departments to ensure synergy and alignment across all projects.
• Supplier management of outsourced delivery partners, working closely to align standards and timescales.
• Staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry standards will be essential to maintaining our client’s competitive edge.

• We are seeking candidates with a strong technical background in hands-on software engineering and proven leadership abilities holding line management experience.
• Your project management skills should be top-notch, complemented by strategic thinking and effective communication.
• Problem-solving abilities, business acumen, and a keen understanding of industry trends are also critical for success in this role.
• Cloud platform experience is essential and any exposure to Python and Data Science environments would be highly advantageous.
