We deliver on that mission by providing services that assist our members in their day-to-day business practices, like Standard Forms, Government Advocacy and Leadership Training. OREA speaks to a variety of audiences, including consumers, media, policy makers, real estate leaders, the provincial regulator, other associations and of course, Ontario REALTORS®.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Vice President - Operations, the Head of Standard Forms will lead the department in keeping OREA Standard Forms and Clauses up to date, ensuring effective communication and connection with our members and relevant stakeholders on related matters, including conducting webinars, meetings, and Member Outreach events across the province of Ontario. The successful applicant will work closely with a panel of Subject Matter Experts and provide continuous input to the Association to be pro-active in responses to members, the marketplace and legislation issues as they arise and pertain to OREA Standard Forms and Clauses.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • University education (or equivalent) with background in English, Math, Technology and/or Real Estate related areas.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior real estate experience (sales or administrative) or organized real estate experience, and positions of communication with both internal and external stakeholders of the Association.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate forms and clauses and general understanding of the complexities of the real estate industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in creating written materials with high standards for understanding and responding to enquiries from sales, management, brokerage, and legal perspective.
  • Ability to review and create reports, provide correspondence, communication, and educational materials (including on-line, textbook and research/statistics).
  • Further knowledge pertaining to real estate related legislation, contract law,
  • Ability to collaborate and provide contextual input from real estate industry experience, as well as knowledge input (history and research reference).
  • Superior communication, project management and decision-making skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to achieve specified objectives and to deliver product/services in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Experience working with Not-for-Profit Associations would be an asset.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Function as the liaison and work closely with the volunteers of OREA Standard Forms Committee and other relevant task forces in carrying out their mandate, including writing reports and preparing appropriate resource materials.
  • Track varied correspondence from registrants and other interested parties as necessary to assess the need for standard forms/clause revision or creation.
  • Revise existing forms/clauses and/or create new forms when requested/required. This responsibility involves considerable discussions with other subject matter experts, proofreading to ensure accuracy prior to implementation.
  • Implement revisions and circulation of new and revised forms and clauses, while working with internal and external forms software providers/licensees.
  • Respond to enquiries related to OREA Standard Forms & Clauses from membership and public (telephone/e-mail/other correspondence).
  • Contribute and assist OREA staff on OREA Standard Forms & Clauses related topics. This responsibility further involves monitoring and giving input to enhance the Members-Only Standard Forms page and resources of orea.com.
  • Research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current industry trends and legal issues to provide input to all sources within responsibilities above. This responsibility involves considerable ongoing contact and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders (meetings, telephone, technology, or face to face contact).
  • Conduct outreach to membership to communicate OREA Standard Forms & Clauses and explain revisions and updates. This involves contacting individuals, brokerages or boards or associations to open lines of communication and initiate informal surveys among the membership to determine Standard Forms update awareness or to probe for concerns/input.
  • Work with other departments at OREA to conduct/publish and promote Standard forms related online materials, including courses, webinars, and podcasts.
