Description:

We are working with a leader in the manufacture and sales of electric and electronic equipment used in Energy and Electric Systems on a brand new role: Head of Sustainability (Managing Consultant), reporting into the General Manager of Corporate Communications. The role is Hybrid (only required to be in for key moments) in West London.

Responsibilities include the following, with the support of a consulting firm:

  • Coordinating and supervising the activities to support the achievement of CSRD compliance across all entities in Europe in scope of the directive.
  • Project management activities regarding CSRD reporting implementation.
  • Business partnering with other functions on implementation and setting up reporting for governance related CSRD KPIs.
  • Conduct impact assessments of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive of the European Union (CSRD) on MEU and other group entities across Europe.
  • Shape a long-term roadmap for our reporting & financial risk management to ensure compliance with CSRD by considering all stakeholders across the different functions, entities and regions, performance measures and organisational levels.
  • Develop interpretations and guidance for CSRD standards for MEU business operations to enable CSRD compliant reporting.
  • Lead the preparation and implementation/execution of compliant CSRD reporting within MEU by building a reporting governance structure designed for increased assurance levels from the external auditor on sustainability reporting.
  • Closely monitor CSRD developments and build networks with peers on CSRD interpretations and best practices.
  • Support Corporate Communication GM in defining requirements for the CSRD reporting team and the capabilities required for any additional recruitment needs.

Experience/Background

  • Experience in a sustainability/ESG advisory position with responsibilities for project management, client engagement and business development.
  • Some experience supporting clients in for example, conducting materiality assessments, developing, and implementing sustainability strategies.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Structured and effective communication that can shape and deliver messages to executive level and facilitate effective stakeholder engagements.
  • Passionate about sustainability topics and pragmatic about how to achieve our goals.
  • Experience working with companies in the Technology sector on sustainability topics is preferred.
