We have a NEW opportunity available! Sustainability is at the heart of our business and a core part of our strategy; we are looking for someone to take a lead and develop this.

As a Head of Sustainability, you will be based in our Warwick office (3 days a week, 2 days remote), you’ll be responsible for:

  • Develop & implement a group sustainability framework and approach to drive sustainability improvements across the Wolseley group, creating KPIs and a roadmap to achieve measurable improvements.
  • Line management of an individual, ability to support and guide them
  • Maintain a company-wide environmental management systems in accordance with the requirements of ISO14001 including training and sample auditing.
  • Report on sustainability strategy, metrics and progress to internal & external stakeholders including under CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and CfD (Climate related Financial Disclosure) reporting frameworks.
  • Undertake and maintain a Double Materiality Assessment programme to inform the group sustainability strategy.
  • Collect and track environmental data for performance monitoring and inclusion in the annual report, managing the relationship with third party data providers.
  • Support, influence and engage sustainability working group leads and Business Unit leads in delivering against agreed sustainability improvement plans and lead the working group for waste management/reduction.

  • Sustainability experience in a PLC business or large organisation, ideally with environmentalist background previously
  • Understanding of reporting requirements within CSRD & CfD reporting frameworks
  • Understanding of emerging trends, themes and focuses within the sustainability sphere and how they relate / impact the organisation.
  • Ability to engage and influence internal external stakeholders, including leadership and other specialist departments.
  • Passionate about sustainability, articulate and confident presenting, strong leadership and programme management skills.
