Company Description
Lead, manage, operate and report the tax affairs of the business, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Lead and develop a high performing tax team. Review, understand and advise on the company’ financial planning from a tax perspective in order to support decision making and strategy development.

Job Description

  • Manage relationship with HMRC.
  • Lead team of 4 (2 direct reports) and take responsibility for implementing the team’s formal development framework with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing and payment of corporation tax and indirect taxes.
  • Assist/manage HMRC queries/enquiries.
  • Review transfer pricing policies and documentation.
  • Advise on tax implications of business changes.
  • Communicate tax matters clearly to senior management where required.
  • Liase with HR and payroll in relation to employment taxes.
  • Liase with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Manage and update embedded quarterly SAO process.
  • Manage tax budget.
  • Manage tax projects where required.
  • Review monthly journals and reconciliations.
  • Lead weekly tax department meetings.
  • Work with external advisors in relation to R&D claims.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CTA qualified or recognised qualifications in accountancy or taxation.
  • Tax knowledge (ideally in corporation tax).
  • An engaging individual able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Experience of people management.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong organisational and collaboration skills to coordinate activities across various teams.
  • Ability to analyse problems and apply innovative solutions.
  • Assertive and diplomatic working style.
  • Experience of working in a fast moving, complex, dynamic and technical environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good at Excel and Power Point.

At Three we have a hybrid working arrangement in place as standard for office based employees, where employees work from a mix of office based location and working from their home in the UK to carry on their role.
Excluding retail, our core hours at Three are between 10:00 and 16:00, with operating hours between 08:00 & 18:30. This allows employees to have a start time between 08:00 and 10:00 and finish time between 16:00 and 18:30
