On behalf of our Insurance client, AMS are looking for a Head of Technology & Engineering for a 6 Weeks (with potential extension to 3 months and conversion to permanent) contract based in London (Remote/Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The purpose of this UK role is to establish and oversee the running and embedding of the CIO Engineering Centres of Excellence (CoE), defining the strategic direction, and ensuring efficient and effective delivery of technology, underpinning both business and customer services.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

As a Head of Technology & Engineering you will be responsible for:

  • Implementation and embedding of the Engineering centre of excellence, ensuring it drives more efficient and effective delivery of technology underpinning both business and customer services.
  • Build, leads, coaches, and develops a team that uses agile methodologies and demonstrates collaborative ways of working, to deliver the business strategy effectively and efficiently.
  • Engages with senior stakeholders within the businesses to support the delivery of the business area strategy, through collaborative ways of thinking that support business aligned Delivery Directors to enable more efficient and agile ways of working which can be demonstrated by the speed of change, without compromising on quality.
  • Lead the overall approach to Engineering to ensure industry best practice is incorporated. You will set standards and practices for the CoEs.
  • Build, own and drive Engineering partner relationships, putting in place governance that ensures they meet our frameworks, guidelines, and principles, whilst building a one team ethos.
  • Recruitment, sourcing, and on-boarding. Lead recruitment and retention ensuring the right mix of skills are available and in line with the agreed overall change portfolio. Ensure mechanisms are in place to effectively exchange knowledge across the team and from previous projects and quickly on-board new team members.
  • Work with vendors and 3rd parties to create an appropriate sourcing model to enable a scalable model.
