Responsibilities:

Providing subject matter expertise, advice, guidance and effective challenge within a second line of defence capacity across treasury and model risk management.
Providing review and challenge of the control framework and risk management profile of treasury, model, financial reporting and tax risks.
Partnering with the business to understand the impact on the risk profile of emerging risks, change initiatives and new or changed products and services.
Advising on technical interpretation proposals relating to treasury risk management, such as funding / capital transactions, and ensuring adequate financial resources are in place via review and challenge of capital and funding plans.
Providing oversight on the management of treasury risk through advice on risk measurement and reporting and providing input and guidance on behavioral assumptions and hedging strategies associated with the management of interest rate risk in the banking book.
Providing Risk Steward opinion on the risk profile of treasury, model and financial reporting and tax within governance forums.
Understanding the impact of external environment changes, emerging risks and changes to the business strategy on the risk profile of treasury, model and financial reporting and tax risks.
Ensuring that any local regulatory requirements are captured within the applicable policies, and that the minimum requirements applicable to the management of risk are complied with by the Risk and Control Owners
Supporting the establishment of appropriate risk appetite measures to mitigate the key risks associate with treasury, model, financial reporting and tax risks.
Providing input and challenge to the stress testing framework to ensure that it is commensurate with the risk profile of the Bank
Requirements
Experience in managing Treasury Risk within a Commercial Banking environment, either in a First or Second Line of Defence capacity, with an in-depth knowledge of Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, Capital, Liquidity, Transactional and Structural Foreign Exchange Risk.
An understanding of Market Risk concepts such as the monitoring and valuation of derivatives.
Experience of Model Risk Management, either within Treasury or a wider Bank environment and the risks that can arise to the Bank though the use of Models.
Experience of working within a risk management framework with respect to the management of risks and controls.
An understanding of the regulatory framework as it pertains to Prudential Risk Management and the associated regulatory reporting requirements with a particular emphasis on Treasury activities.
Proven track record for presenting within Executive Management meetings, with very strong written and verbal communication skills from Board-level down.
Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in managing a small team of SME’s and being comfortable translating technical theories into simple and understandable concepts.
Experience of working in smaller organizations where a pragmatic approach to risk management is sometime required.
An appreciation of Financial Reporting and Tax controls would be an advantage for the role.
Comfortable in gaining experience to provide Risk Stewardship oversight of other risks such as Pension and Insurable risk.
