Job Description

Tasks

  • As Head of WOW Content Merchandising (m/f/d) you’ll be responsible for leading the content recommendation strategy, maximizing engagement and driving upsell/cross-sell in collaboration with marketing and sales teams
  • This includes both the WOW content experience in apps and on partner platforms as well as defining the content engagement strategy for WOW to increase customer dwell time & frequency
  • In addition to creating WOW content plans & priorities to support WOW’s strategic goals to ensure efficient communication across all business units & customer touchpoints, you’ll also take care of data & customer-driven merchandising strategies & concepts
  • Your day-to-day work will consist of both short-term market research, monitoring competitive trends and conducting A/B tests to derive strategic measures to improve engagement & content performance as well as creating your own content KPIs (e.g. viewing time, frequency and repertoire) and implementing performance measures to improve churn
  • You’ll be a key contributor to managing day-to-day content performance at WOW, reporting results to the WOW leadership team and Sky Group executives and playing a critical role in global product discussions to future-proof our content merchandising tools & approaches
  • In addition to coordinating with Content, Sports and Content Products to set content priorities and merchandising strategies, you’*ll engage with the WOW business teams on a daily basis to ensure content priorities are considered at all touchpoints and provide content performance data to derive adjustments to campaigns & planning
  • You’ll also work with the content department to ensure high quality content, metadata & imagery on the platform, interfacing with the content, merchandising & product teams in the other OTT areas to align approach & share learnings

Requirements

  • You’ve a degree or comparable qualification in (digital) media, marketing, journalism or similar and also have at least 6-8 years of experience in a relevant position
  • In addition to your strong interpersonal skills and experience in building, leading & developing a team, you are characterized above all by a start-up mentality and entrepreneurial thinking
  • You not only bring an analytical mind with a focus on data-driven decision making, but also the ability to understand & analyze content usage data using tools such as Tableau, Adobe Analytics, etc.
  • Experience in using content management systems to present content in TV/streaming products and a high affinity for digital products, innovative entertainment concepts and the technologies on which they are based set you apart from others
  • Through your professional experience, you’ve not only gained an understanding of how to positively influence the customer experience, but also extensive experience in achieving KPIs and managing stakeholders
  • Your adaptability, resilience and ability to operate in a rapidly evolving OTT landscape are among your strengths and you are skilled at linking insights/data on content engagement, user behavior and commercial impact
  • In addition to a track record of achieving business & customer results in a fast-growing DTC business, you also bring a deep understanding of fictional and ideally also sports content and have the ability to identify key priorities and derive a merchandising strategy
  • Good German and English skills round off your profile
