We are looking for a distinguished expert in automation engineering to join Normet as a
Head of Xrock R&D and Technology Centre
In this role, you will lead the development of Normet’s Xrock rock-breaking systems and build and manage our new technology center in Lahti. Normet is ramping up investments in automation technology and application excellence leadership to strengthen our global leadership in rock-breaking systems.
Our comprehensive product lineup of Xrock hydraulic breakers, breaker booms and Xrock Automation system is designed to meet the demands of a variety of applications in mining and construction business. This is a newly established role where you will oversee the Xrock R&D engineering team, manage also external resources, and collaborate with our global team.
The role is based in Lahti, Finland, and requires on-site presence. We are seeking a leader with strong leadership skills who also possesses a hands-on engineering approach to ensure things get done. You will report directly to CEO of Normet MRB.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Lead the Xrock engineering team and manage external resources.
• Manage the R&D pipeline and technology portfolio in conjunction with sales management
• Manage projects and resources within the global R&D framework
• India localization engineering support and coordination with local India team
• Maintain product master data
• Develop R&D tools and processes
• Create and manage technical documentation
• Provide sales support and handle custom engineering tasks
• Product maintenance engineering, development of standardization and manufacturability

To shine in this position, we hope you to have:

• Experience in automation engineering
• Master’s Degree in Technology
• Extensive R&D and prototyping experience
• Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in English; Finnish language skills are a plus
