As we transition from groundbreaking R&D to scalable production, we seek a dynamic and experienced Head of Production to lead our efforts in bringing these cutting-edge technologies to market.
Position Overview: The Head of Production will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring the seamless transition of our Hall thruster systems from research and development to commercially viable products. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong background in production, quality assurance, and quality control protocols, and a deep understanding of industry standards for batch production. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading production teams, implementing cost-effective manufacturing strategies, and ensuring high standards of product quality and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role, preferably in the aerospace or high-tech industries.
• Proven experience in translating R&D projects into commercial products.
• Strong knowledge of QA and QC protocols and industry standards for batch production.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers and production staff.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of implementing effective production strategies.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with propulsion systems or satellite/space-related technologies.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards in the aerospace industry.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies.

• Develop and implement comprehensive production strategies that align with the company’s goals and industry standards.
• Establish and maintain robust QA and QC protocols to ensure the highest quality of products.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the production process, from initial planning and scheduling to final product delivery.
• Collaborate with the R&D team to translate innovative designs into manufacturable and commercially viable products.
• Optimize production workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet production targets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, production efficiency, and overall operational performance.
• Manage production budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
