The North American Treasury & Payment Solutions (TPS) Strategy team is looking to hire ex-management consulting / strategy talent to work on some of the most interesting and challenging opportunities and challenges to help drive an ambitious growth agenda. We develop and work on comprehensive strategies for commercial liquidity / cash management and cards services and capabilities across Business Banking, Commercial Banking and Capital Markets. Treasury and Payments is a dynamic area due to continuously evolving client needs, technology advancements, regulatory changes and competitive market conditions.
The TPS Strategy team ensures consistent alignment of TPS strategies with individual product, channel, and business segment strategies. We also focus on delivering initiatives that are cross-team and across segments, providing guidance from strategy development through to execution.
This role owns the development and execution of all strategic initiatives required to deliver BMO’s Treasury and Payments Solutions (TPS) business outcomes. This critical role helps organize, drive and influence the development and execution of the most critical strategic initiatives within TPS. Achieves results in partnership with senior / executive leaders within TPS and across the enterprise using a consultative, team-based approach.

Looking for strong ex-consulting / strategy talent to:

  • Partner with executive leadership to understand, and contribute to TPS growth strategy development, including help assess internal and external opportunities, threats and challenges and tradeoffs.
  • Lead the launch and execution of resulting key strategic initiatives to drive required business outcomes.
  • Partner with all TPS functions to align roadmaps and build winning propositions for client segments and industries.
  • Network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices and innovation opportunities.
  • Recommend measures to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide inputs / views to or serve on various committees and task forces.
  • Recommend business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Provide strategic advice to various lines of businesses to ensure effective articulation of strategy and builds out the key capabilities and solicit Business input and aggregate strategic initiatives through partnerships with business leaders and peers.
  • Disaggregate strategic challenges into relevant issues and develop/implement appropriate solutions.
  • Act as the prime contact for internal/external stakeholder relationships, which may include regulators.
  • Lead the development and execution of competitive intelligence capability within the business.
  • Define business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making.
  • Monitor and tracks performance, and recommend actions to address issues.
  • Ensure consistent communication of strategy and messaging, especially for executive leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with all enterprise governance processes and practices.
  • Ensure the sales pipeline strategy meets the needs of the various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with sales pipeline strategy for the accurate assessment of pipeline health and potential.
  • Collaborate with client implementation and service teams, to develop, refine, and support a reporting strategy to set standards for new client onboarding and service.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
