THE HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER
Will be a charismatic leader who can lead, mentor, and develop our people to achieve continual improvement. You will be an enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude who can promote a positive Health and Safety culture.
You will have excellent communication skills and will be confident liaising with colleagues across all levels of the business.
In addition, we are looking for:
- Educated to a health and safety standard (NEBOSH, Diploma or similar)
- Member of a professional institute (IOSH or IIRSM etc)
- Health Safety experience gained within an operational environment
- Experience gained in a leisure (pool) environment
- Pool Plant Operator qualification – desirable
- Experience of delivering behaviour systems to support cultural development
- Hazard identification and risk mitigation processes
- Understanding and implementation of ISO45001 management systems
- Ability to challenge decision making and working methods in a constructive manner
- A comprehensive understanding of current Health and Safety legislation
- Able to produce and present informative and accurate reports at Senior/Director level
- Able to develop safe systems of work

Responsibilities:
We are looking for someone who is used to working autonomously, capable of developing relationships with stakeholders with strong influencing skills. You will be comfortable in building credibility to achieve buy in for change and positively impacting an organisation’s culture on health and safety.
You will be responsible for supporting strategies, developing systems, monitoring performance and the provision of advice and support to ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements. You will ensure associated contractors have achieved the correct standard of compliance, as well as ensuring systems, process, and procedures are kept up to date.
In this position, you will be leading a team of Hotel Managers to drive our Health and Safety values and ensure we continually look to identify opportunities for improvement.
Based in Bath and working across multiple sites, additional responsibilities will include:
- Managing the auditing process, identifying trends, and ensuring compliance
- Providing support to management and on-site teams
- Managing the investigation of incidents and near miss events to ensure appropriate remedial action is taken and lessons are leant across the organisation.
- Identifying trends and putting forward improvements to better the Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Provide support and advice to operational departments
- Review HS procedures and documentation and ensure they are kept up to date and in line with legislation
- Support, monitor and maintain the delivery of safe working practices in line with company policy and procedures
- Work collaboratively with other members in the HS team to ensure policies and procedures are aligned within the YTL Group
