TOP ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Proactive management of safety laws and regulations within the brewery and depots
- Inspections of brewery and depots to ensure adherence with safety laws and regulations
- Examine ways to improve health and safety standards
- Ensure that each market have comprehensive Baseline Risk Assessment as well as advising the markets on implementing appropriate controls
- Calibrate the sites and location on the Safe Systems of Work
- Negotiate with managers and employees regarding provision of a safe working environment
- Assist in the development of health and safety programmes and strategies
- Compile and review risk assessments, safe working procedures and method statements
- Communicate risk assessments to the work force
- Conduct safety inspections and report deviations to management
- Maintain good housekeeping principles
- Coordinate health and Safety related training of employees
- Ensure all health & safety reps conduct monthly H&S inspections of their work areas.
- Ensure all registers and checklists are updated.
- Assist in appointment of safety representatives.
- Evaluate incident forms, surveys and audits to establish root causes and together with Supervisors and Managers concerned, formulate a plan of action to correct non-compliant behaviour or conditions
- Liaise with on-site contractors to ensure compliance with company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including basic safety induction training
- Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions and report to management.
- Co-ordinate evacuation exercises to ensure that all staff become familiar with evacuation procedures.
- Review and update Emergency Procedures as and when necessary
- Implementation of ISO 45001 standard in coordination with SHE Manager
- Provision of all monthly reports as required by Senior Management
- Monthly HSE reports for supply and demand
- Inventory control, maintenance and supply of fire extinguishers and first aid kits to brewery and depots
- Assist with the formulation of emergency/contingency plans for:
- Natural disaster
- Industrial action
- Political unrest
- Fire
- Explosions
- Bomb threats
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric
- National Diploma / degree in Health & Safety Management
- SAMTRAC or NEBOSH
