Description:
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
As a Health and Wellbeing Activities Officer, you will form part of our Kingswood Park Project Delivery Team, working with partners to deliver Community wellbeing activities with residents, the Kingswood Health Centre, GP surgeries, One You South Gloucestershire integrated healthy lifestyle service practitioners and support groups.
Developing participation opportunities with local Mental Health Partnerships, you will help support volunteers and beneficiaries to grow bedding and other plants for use in the park. You will also ensure that health and wellbeing activities are delivered to meet all our residents, with varying cultures and disabilities, and ethic and LGBTQ+ groups, to ensure activities are accessible and culturally appropriate.
South Gloucestershire Council has secured delivery phase funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to progress our plans for the restoration and enhancement Kingswood Park in South Gloucestershire. The Heritage Fund grant awarded is £2,671,735, with a total project delivery cost of £3,360,857 over 3 years.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- It is essential that you hold a relevant qualification, or have previous experience coordinating health and wellbeing, healthy lifestyles support programmes, or have equivalent relevant experience.
- We require you to be able to demonstrate experience in the delivery of community engagement activities, working with a variety of healthy lifestyle service practitioners, support groups, health provider organisations, community groups, residents, local businesses and specialist interest groups.
- You will have experience of stakeholder engagement and project management, and can contribute to the management of budgets, resources, project evaluation and monitoring.
- You will be required to collaborate with partners and work flexibly and creatively.
- You must be able to work to deadlines as part of a team and supervise the work of volunteers and contractors.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the delivery of health and wellbeing elements of the Kingswood Park Activities Action Plan for Kingswood Park, with a budget value of £61,800 approx.
- In the role you will work closely with a variety of healthcare providers, healthy lifestyle service practitioners, community groups and local residents, in the delivery of the Kingswood Park Activities Plan.
- It will be your responsibility to manage the programme of health and wellbeing activities sessions, as set out in the Kingswood Park Activities Action Plan and also assist the Kingswood Park Activities Officer, in the delivery of the wider Activities Action Plan.
- Working with the project delivery team and Evaluation Consultant, you will monitor and record activities against targets and measures of success, ensuring positive and lasting change for people and communities.
- In this role you will work closely with the Friends of Kingswood Park and the wider Kingswood community, ensuring relationships support efficient and effective delivery of the project.
