QUALIFICATIONS

• A baccalaureate degree in education; or completion of an adult teaching/learning education program
• 1 year of adult teaching experience
• 3 years of experience in a health facility required
• The applicant must be a regulated nurse in Alberta and in good standing with their regulatory college. Regulated nurses in Alberta include registered nurses (RN), registered psychiatric nurses (RPN), nurse practitioners (NP), and licensed practical nurses (LPN)
• Must have a minimum of 1500 hours of clinical nursing or nursing education experience in Canada within 3 years of this application
• Applicants without any of the above will be considered and if successful will be required to enroll in a degree or continuing education adult teaching/learning program within one year of hire
• Must be available Days and/or Evenings for site-specific shifts
• French not required
• Ability to commute/relocate
  Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
  Salary: From $42.16 per hour
  Schedule: Monday to Friday (Day shift and/or Evening shift)

• Be available to problem-solve all students and staff for questions and concerns daily
• Support and guide students in a positive learning environment on the duties and responsibilities of an HCA
• Monitor students skills on assigned tasks while out on practicum
• Complete weekly reports on students and their progress
• Provide feedback and assistance to students on positive or “need to work on” statements
• Collaborate with the staff in completing a final evaluation on the student’s practical performance
• Facilitate on filling out practicum checklists and evaluations
• Review final evaluations with each student
