Description:

  • Start Date - As soon as available
  • Hours – 0.6 FTE (24 hours a week)
  • Shifts – 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm. Weekend shifts will be required from time to time.
  • Status – Permanent
  • Location - Outpatients Services, Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital & Health Centre, Greymouth
  • Salary - Starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum. Based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement

Responsibilities:

This role is excellent for someone who is looking to develop their skills and grow their career in health care.
In this role you will be under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse and be working closely with the nursing teams.

The role of a Health Care assistant varies from day to day, but you will be there to make sure that the unit is running smoothly and to its highest potential. This could mean performing a variety of tasks such as:

  • Basic patient care;
  • Assist with Outpatient clinics;
  • Stocktaking and managing equipment and supplies;
  • Assisting the nursing team with a variety of tasks;
  • Ensuring that patients have the best experience possible;
  • Housekeeping within the Outpatient department.
