Step-Down is an 8 bed unit comprising of two houses: Ty Gwanwyn has 5 beds and is staffed 24/7, Carreg Sarn has 3 beds and is floating support by day and staffed by night. The aim of Step-Down to to assess and promote independent living skills, positive risk taking and relapse prevention for our patients.
The role of the healthcare support worker is to promote the ethos of the ward of rehabilitation and recovery, focusing on promoting independence, individuality and holistic care.
As a healthcare support worker you will be required to assist patients with their activities of daily living, promoting well being and independence alongside helping patients recover from mental illness through a range of therapies and activities.
The Step-Down service is centred around the aim to help people recover in their own individual way and support patients in their mental health recovery journey.
A keen interest in mental health, particularly rehabilitation is key for this role in order to support our patients in the best way possible.
