Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full-time Health Improvement Advisor’s to join the maternity teams at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea and St, Mary’s hospital to support our smoking cessation program for patients and staff
The Health Improvement Advisors will be responsible for supporting the development of a pregnancy smoking cessation service and delivering the service along with the community based smoking cessation services.
The Health Improvement Advisors will work closely with the Trust Health Improvement team to engage and deliver a supportive program for staff in the Trust.
The post holder will work with the Health Improvement Advisor Lead and the Health Improvement Project Lead, across adult in-patients wards, to provide individualised health improvement advice support to patients, such as those with a tobacco addiction.
This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health by promoting and supporting people to stop smoking, as well as looking at other health improvement opportunities, such as weight management and alcohol intake. It focuses on engaging with patients and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.
