Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Health team. We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, and enthusiastic Health Improvement Specialist to work as part of the public health team in an operational role to lead the delivery of prevention and public health programmes across the organisation, with the aim of improving health and addressing health inequalities.
The post holder will provide leadership and management to ensure the Trust tobacco dependency services (acute and maternity) are delivered in line with our strategic objectives and support a whole system approach to treating tobacco dependency.
The post holder will deliver on a portfolio of work as determined by the Public Health Matron and Programme Manager; including time limited projects. This will include the p rovision of specialist public health education, information, advice and support to teams, departments and staff across the organisation.

The role will include operational management of the Tobacco Dependency Advisor team (acute smoking cessation) and Best Start in Life Advisor team (maternity) reporting to the Public Health Matron.
The post holder is required to build working partnerships with a range of personnel across all staff groups and operate as a link and specialist reference point for public health, with particular reference to tobacco dependency.

The post holder will have specialist public health or health related knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience. They will have experience of leading and developing a variety of public health/health improvement projects in a health related setting and be able to demonstrate a commitment to team-working, respect, and consideration for the skills of others
