About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) Community Health Literacy Strategy has been developed to specifically address how we can best support our community to take personal responsibility and ownership for their health, both now and into the future. The Health literacy project worker will work collaboratively within SWH and externally within community in taking the lead for the organisation in delivery of Community Health Literacy Strategy including;
- Delivery of public workshops to assist people to access trusted sources of readily available health information.
- Actively lead health service participation in relevant community events, providing information and screening for relevant and common health conditions.
- Implement a regular advertising campaign aimed at improving personal health behaviours, utilising communication methods that are engaging and easy to understand.
- Research and implement communication tools.
- Participate in the health promotion team planning process.
- Support the implementation of the regional health promotion plan.
- Report progress through appropriate channels.

- Parental Leave - Fixed term, Part-time (64 hours per fortnight)

- Salary range $61,604.40 - $85,274.80 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
The successful applicant will have;
- Demonstrated understanding of health and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
- Demonstrated understanding of health literacy.
- Experience in engaging community in change initiatives.
- Well-developed computer literacy including Email, Word and development of easy to understand information (eg use of infographics).
- Current Victorian Drivers License.
