Responsibilities:

The BreastScreen NSW South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Screening and Assessment Service is one of the nine Screening and Assessment Services (SASs) coordinated by BreastScreen NSW. This service is offered to women 40 years and over with promotion aimed toward those in the 50-74 year age-group with the aim of reducing breast cancer mortality.
The position Health Promotion Officer is primarily responsible for the development, planning, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of projects and health promotion activities. These activities are designed to complement or contribute to focus areas of the Health Promotion Department. Projects and activities are planned in consideration of the service’s Marketing and Recruitment Strategy and Annual Strategic Plan (under guidance from the Health Promotion Manager). The role is required to manage multiple projects/activities and focus populations simultaneously.
Under the direction of the Health Promotion Manager, the position will also lead a range of health promotion and department administrative tasks. These include but are not limited to mobile van coordination, event planning and management, development and management of key reports and department frameworks, and supporting staff training.
