Description:
Ayrton Group an immediate requirement for a Health and Safety Officer working on a major manufacturing facility upgrade project in the Cork region. This role will involve working closely with PSCS on-site.
This is an initial 15 month contract role with the potential for extensions, commencing in May.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years work experience in Health and Safety required.
- Minimum of a Diploma in Health and Safety.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
- Experience in Construction is required.
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing facility would be beneficial.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Implementation of Safety Management System on site.
- Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
- Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
- Reviewing existing policies and measures and updating according to legislation.
- Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment.
- Managing, developing, and maintaining incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
- Reviewing the SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
- Carrying out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
