QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Professionally qualified e.g. Membership of IOSH. (Tech IOSH) maintaining annual CPD
- Specialist Health Safety and Compliance related knowledge acquired through specific and bespoke courses and experience
- Highly developed safety skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex and specialist information to different levels within IFM, including contractors.
- Understanding of Health and Safety legislation, HBN, HTM and implications

Responsibilities:
The Health and Safety Officer will provide concise, timely and impartial advice, guidance and support to managers, directors and staff to ensure the effectiveness of IFM and the Trusts’ arrangements for promoting safe environments and work activities.
- To complete audits in all departments on a rolling basis where complex issues need to be considered and judgements requiring analysis and interpretation to prepare monthly and annual performance reports for the executive iFM Board.
- To develop and implement KPI’s on all Health and Safety performance across, iFMprepare monthly and annual performance reports for the executive board iFM Board.
- Undertake Health and Safety Risk Assessmentswhere complex issues need to be considered and judgements and complicated situations requiring analysis and interpretation
- Investigate incidents sometimes relating to highly sensitive and complex issues and produce recommendations on remedial actions necessary to prevent reoccurrence
- Overseeing the development and delivery of health and safety across the estate, ensuring this is fit for purpose and striving for best practice within different environments.
- You will have experience of working with all levels of stakeholders, with the ability to coach, advise and drive a safety improvement culture. You will have a strategic outlook, working closely with the site leadership to develop annual HSE Plans with monthly objectives and targets Devise, review and update Health and Safety policies, procedures and protocols so that appropriate safe working practices can be adopted.
- Undertake a programme of annual reviews and audits to assist managers to identify their safety performance and compliance with policies, protocols, procedures and current legislation.
- Assist the team to provide a comprehensive programme of IOSH recognised Health and Safety training to all levels of staff.
- Assist with reviewing and maintaining Health and Safety policies, protocols and guidance and develop new documents as required in respect of areas of responsibility.
- Organise and manage personal day to day work activities under the direction of the Associate Director of QSHE.
- Support the QSHE Associate Director to ensure the provision of a high quality, value-for-money portfolio of services in support of the iFM Bolton strategic service objectives and ensuring safe and effective maintenance, development and performance is provided.
- You are required to contribute to the control of risk and use the incident reporting system to alert iFM of incidents or near misses that may compromise the quality of services.
