Description:

Roche fosters diversity, equity and inclusion, representing the communities we serve. When dealing with healthcare on a global scale, diversity is an essential ingredient to success. We believe that inclusion is key to understanding people’s varied healthcare needs. Together, we embrace individuality and share a passion for exceptional care. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
The Position
As healthcare is changing with radical innovation, increased openness to change, increasing patient empowerment, multiple sources of medical information, and pressure on public spending, the needs of our stakeholders continue to evolve. At Roche, we are brave in both decision and action and we believe that good business means a better world. Join us in making this happen.
The Health System Partner (HSP) is an empowered leader and the local face of Roche working closely with system-level healthcare stakeholders including Te Whatu Ora, Te Aka Whai Ora, The New Zealand Ministry of Health, PHARMAC and Te Aho o Te Kahu to position Roche as a strong, credible and supportive partner in an evolving health system.
The HSP identifies shared purpose and value, co-creates solutions and co-implements them across ecosystems, indirectly influencing outcomes for thousands of patients. By doing so the HSP will be directly accountable to challenge and shape the healthcare system in service of better health outcomes for more patients faster in a sustainable way to society.
Private healthcare options in New Zealand are also evolving, with emerging care pathways, treatment options and services growing across the country. Roche’s intention is to increase our focus in the private sector to expand the solutions and services we offer patients and partners in the private healthcare setting.
The HSP is a trusted partner and the primary (but non-exclusive) point of contact between system-level healthcare stakeholders and Roche. The role is empowered to pull in expertise and resources locally and from the network as needed, including in collaboration with other Healthcare System Partners and Patient Journey Partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with public and private healthcare system stakeholders to drive healthcare system innovation and unlock possibilities to deliver value for the ecosystem and society
  • Contributes to identifying, mapping, engaging and managing ecosystem stakeholders
  • Further developing and leading health-system level workstreams in pursuit of the longer term outcomes identified within our local Health Impact Plan (HIP). This may include such activities as supporting earlier, faster, more accurate diagnosis of disease and/or leading work on initiatives that improve system efficiencies and patient outcomes
  • Shares the stakeholder community vision and value internally, prioritizes and secures resources, and drives solutions that deliver outcomes faster
  • Engages with the Market Access Strategist (Health Economist) in development of the pharmaco-economic analysis, pricing requests and reimbursement strategies.
  • Leads the strategy and execution of new funding proposals, commercial proposals, contracts and tenders
  • Looks across the individual ecosystem and catalyses our ability to see broader trends and patterns in healthcare systems
  • Brings outside insights into Roche to influence strategy AND to bring our expertise, science and knowledge out to the ecosystem.
