If this is you then an exciting opportunity has arisen on our Elective Orthopaedic Wards (Snowshill & Bibury) at Cheltenham General Hospital. The wards cater for patients who have undergone a variety of orthopaedic surgery and have recently developed a pathway to implement day-case joint replacement.

You will be a part of a highly skilled and motivated multidisciplinary team that includes health Care Assistants, Nurses, Medical and Therapy Staff

  • To provide a high standard of Nursing Care
  • To work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team
  • To communicate effectively with patients, carers and relatives
  • To take responsibility for your own personal development and support others
  • Contribute towards the continuing development of professional nursing practice in the clinical area
  • You will be expected to work a range of shifts including days, nights and weekends.

  • As a Health care Assistant you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care under the supervision of registered nurses.
  • Deliver safe care within a busy and changing clinical environment
  • Recording observations and assessments of patients, catheter care.
  • To input and retrieve patient information form computer based systems.
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living including personal care, nutritional and dietary support.
  • Additional supportive tasks as directed by registered nurses eg venepuncture and ECGs
  • To adhere to all trust policies and procedures.
