Responsibilities:

As a key member of the frontline team, the Health Care Assistant assists in the delivery of individualized patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. The role assists in the smooth running of the department and the provision of quality patient care.

The main duties for this role are:

  • Receive patients to the clinical area with courtesy
  • Orient new patients to the clinical area and hospital environment
  • Check that each patient bay has all the appropriate and required equipment stored correctly
  • Receive patients to the clinical area with courtesy.
  • Support patients with hygiene, nutrition, mobilisation needs as required and directed.
  • Keep clinical areas and waiting areas clean and tidy.
