Join our Healthcare Assistants’ Assessment Day at Peterborough City Hospital on Saturday the 20 th of April 2024 to gain valuable insight into our efforts to provide high quality care service to our local communities!

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in improving our patients’ experiences, providing hands on personal care (washing, toileting etc), monitoring conditions, supporting them with eating and drinking. You will be caring and kind and have excellent communication and listening skills.
Our team will guide you in finding an area that is tailored to your skills and long-term aspirations. The available opportunities are limited to adult mixed-gender inpatient medical wards.

We can offer personal and professional development through in-house and external training, and a buddy to provide assistance with your onboarding and guidance on your daily tasks and responsibilities.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be passionate about improving the life of our patients while demonstrating a flexible approach and excellent communication skills. You will show a respectful, caring, and compassionate attitude in your daily duties.
All the roles are permanent and offered on a full-time and part-time basis. Flexible working opportunities would be considered where possible.
Typical shift patterns are 07:00 - 19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30, across all seven days of the week (including bank holidays).
Your daily duties will be performed under the kind supervision of our registered staff. The main duties may include:
Personal care, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort, and safety.
Help patients move around.
Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable clinical environment to live and work in.
Communicate to patients and their families.
Manage stock levels for linen and other supplies.
When your tasks prove to be challenging, our Wellbeing team will be there to support you as well as our in-house physiotherapy services.
