- Be a team player who builds constructive working relationships with others.
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent work and industry experience.
- An understanding of farming systems and familiarity with LIC’s products and services would be desirable.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Joining our Research & Development Group as a Herd Improvement Analyst, you’ll be joining a team at the forefront of scientific innovation, working to create opportunities for progressive dairy farmers.
You’ll be responsible for managing and monitoring LIC’s animal evaluation system, ensuring timely delivery of results to our customers and third parties. You’ll draw on your problem-solving skills and analytical aptitude to independently solve queries related to animal evaluation, and provide insights relating to genetic gain and herd improvement.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Extract and analyse LIC animal data.,
- Promote the herd improvement story to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate research project activities, successfully completing specific projects or milestones.
- Provide technical and operational support for LIC’s obligations towards the Dairy Industry Good Animal Database (DIGAD) and future NZAEL evaluation systems.
- Foster a collaborative working environment within and across LIC teams.
- Continuously expand your technical expertise and knowledge through on-the-job training and personal development.
This is a 2-year fixed term opportunity, covering a period of study leave.
