The department of infectious diseases seeks to appoint a Clinical Fellow in High Consequence Infectious Diseases and Global Health on a 12 month contract. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic infectious diseases service, with a focus on high consequence infectious diseases and imported fevers.
The role will primarily consist of NIU project development including HCID simulation and training, NIU quality assurance, and imported fever service development. The successful candidate will support the implementation of a wider Global Health programme to complement existing NIU activities. The benefits to trainee include experience in national outbreak response, HCID specific knowledge and skills, international collaboration, engagement with public health and national committees, and related research activities.
The clinical commitments will include the imported fever service assessments, as well as one general ID clinic per week. The successful candidate will report directly to NIU consultants, who will ensure the post is tailored towards individual interests and training goals. There are dedicated weekly Infectious Diseases teaching sessions within the department and we encourage our team to participate in our very active research programmes.
Candidates who have completed their MRCPI and are contemplating a career in Infectious Diseases or related speciality are preferred. We especially encourage applications from candidates with underrepresented backgrounds.
