Description:

Are you a n experienced Psychological Therapist looking for diversity in your clinical work? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Band 7 therapist to join our thriving Older Person’s Psychology Team within CTMUHB, on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will work across localities within CTMUHB, within Older Person’s Mental Health, experiencing the breadth of clinical work that the specialty has to offer.
The CTM UHB Older Person’s Psychology Team consists of a supportive and passionate team of colleagues, including both Clinical and Counselling Psychologists. We’re a team who embraces change and opportunity, and are currently in an exciting period of service development. The successful candidate will be well supported and mentored by senior colleagues, and provided with a range of opportunities for career development.
The wider Psychology service within CTM UHB has undergone exciting developments in recent months and is a thriving department to sit within. We hold regular conferences throughout the year, where psychology teams across CTM UHB come together to share good practice and innovations. We have close links with local training programmes and provide regular training and placement opportunities to Trainees.
CTM UHB Older Person’s Mental Health services are currently divided into five areas: Bridgend, Rhondda, Cynon, Taff and Merthyr – each area consists of an Older Person’s Community Mental Health Team (OPCMHT) and Memory Assessment Service (MAS) and feeds into the Older Person’s Mental Health inpatient wards within the health board. The successful candidate for this post will be based within OPCMHT and MAS, working across localities, depending on service need.
The post holder will sit within well-established multi-disciplinary teams, providing specialist psychological knowledge and expertise to the team. This role provides an opportunity for a Band 7 Therapist to work within OPCMHT, providing a high quality psychological therapy service to the teams and locality population. This primarily includes providing a psychological assessment and therapy service to older adults under secondary care mental health services (Part 2 of the Mental Health Measure, 2010), as well as consultation and training as required for staff within the wider OPCMHT. The role will sit within CMHTs, and the successful candidate will provide psychological therapies for CMHT clients.
