Overview
Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts is a Paideia Magnet School focused on providing the highest quality education for all students. To meet this goal, the community is intent on hiring outstanding teachers who exhibit strong content knowledge and a commitment to developing relationships with students in the classroom and beyond. This small K-12 school depends on all educators to fulfill athletic coaching responsibilities, club sponsorships, and exploratory experiences for students.
Preference will be given to applicants who have a Masters in English with the +18 hours required to teach dual enrollment courses.

Teaching candidate must hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in 6-12 English or be an upcoming graduate in an accredited teacher preparation program. If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree.

Compensation
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
This position may be eligible for an increase in total compensation. The Differentiated Compensation Plan applies to designated schools and hard-to-staff positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Learning - Deeply understand the Tennessee English Language Arts Standards and establish clear learning targets for every lesson. Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently implement high leverage literacy practices. Follow Hamilton County Schools’ instructional framework, including:
