Soddy Daisy High School is a 9-12 school located in Soddy Daisy, TN, just north of the Chattanooga area. We are a community school that is supported by local businesses, families, and both former and current students. We offer a rich choice of programs which includes a wide variety of sports, band, Army ROTC, and many college-level classes in all content areas.
At SDHS, we offer two Future Ready Institutes that connect our students to the greater Chattanooga community and area businesses - specifically the Institute of Media and Entrepreneurship and the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Technology Academy. Working in an atmosphere such as this stimulates teachers to grow as professionals as they collaborate with their peers on how to best help our students. Teaching candidate must hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in 6-12 English or be an upcoming graduate in an accredited teacher preparation program. If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must

Compensation
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
This position may be eligible for an increase in total compensation. The Differentiated Compensation Plan applies to designated schools and hard-to-staff positions.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Learning - Deeply understand the Tennessee English Language Arts Standards and establish clear learning targets for every lesson. Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently implement high leverage literacy practices. Follow Hamilton County Schools’ instructional framework, including:

- Professional Responsibilities: Actively participates in professional learning communities (PLCs) with colleagues in order to improve teaching and student learning. Reflect on instruction and leadership while contributing ideas, expertise, and time to the mission and goals of the school.
