POSITION OVERVIEW:
Are you a dynamic and passionate educator with a love for literature? We’re seeking a High School English Teacher who can inspire and enrich the lives of our students through both classical and modern literature. If you’re ready to ignite a love of learning and guide students through the world of English language arts, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement captivating lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and align with curriculum standards.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves.
- Introduce students to a wide range of literary genres, authors, and texts, fostering critical thinking and analysis skills.
- Cultivate students’ writing abilities through various forms of composition, including essays, creative writing, and research papers.
- Prepare students for standardized tests and provide support for academic growth and development.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for teaching and a genuine desire to inspire a love of literature in students.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Previous high school teaching experience, preferably in a college preparatory program.
- Strong knowledge of English literature, including canonical works and contemporary texts.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources.
