Would you like to take up an exciting opportunity to further develop your career in Paediatric Physiotherapy as part of a dynamic and friendly team?
We are looking for a highly experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated senior member of staff to help lead in providing a high-quality, comprehensive and proactive clinical physiotherapy service for children and young people (0 to 19) referred to our specialist children’s physiotherapy service.
We are based at the purpose built Children and Young People’s Centre – Kaleidoscope in Catford and provide physiotherapy for children and young people in the diverse population of Lewisham.
The post holder will take a lead responsibility for an allocated care pathway, work within special schools, provide early intervention to identified client groups under five and assess and treat school-age children. They will take an active part in leading physiotherapy and multidisciplinary groups for children and supervise and train physiotherapy staff, students and technical instructors.
Within Lewisham there is a strong multidisciplinary/multiagency focus to working with children and young people, the post holder will support this and be involved in promoting it for individual families.
We have a physiotherapy team of 11 staff and offer peer support and a strong commitment to continuing professional development.
The post holder will have opportunities to develop clinical, organisational and managerial skills in a variety of settings and to work with children of all ages.
The successful candidate will be highly specialised, experienced, motivated, organised and committed to working within a team environment.
An enhanced DBS check and fulfillment of the physical requirement of the post are detailed in the Person specification. A clean driving license is desirable.

To provide a highly specialist physiotherapy service to children and young people in Lewisham, managing a highly complex caseload of clients with a variety of developmental disabilities. The post holder will provide neurological and neurodevelopmental therapy assessment, intervention and review for children and young people; as well as provide clinical supervision and management to a small number of staff members. The service is provided in a variety of locations within the Lewisham area including Kaleidoscope Centre, mainstream schools and nurseries, special needs schools, the family home, aquatic therapy pools, local leisure centres and occasional in-reach into Lewisham Hospital
